How it Started

Makoré, was founded as a reaction to an explosion of online plant stores and sales apps offering an even larger variety of tropical and rare plants. We wanted a store that offered a calm, and quiet alternative to the rushed, pressured, shopping experience created to upsell you at every turn. We wanted a store grounded in old world craft, grounded in science, and managed with plant health care best practices. We wanted to show our community beautiful plants, elegant planters, and a supportive plant culture no matter how far along you are in your plant journey.

What We Crave

Most of all we craved design forward, plant forward, calm spaces. This is how our vision, to make every space calmer and more beautiful with living plants, was born.

Where We're Going

We strive to align ourselves with other small plants shops and plant nurseries that are creating a conservation business model, a green oasis in an urban place and a place of learning for anyone that picks up plant, recieves a plant in the mial or enjoys a calm, peaceful view on our socials.
