Makoré is located in Charlotte, North Carolina and is the city's only micro nursery (as far as I know!). The vision is simple, to make every space calmer and more beautiful with living plants.
This is where I am supposed to write witty and engaging copy to win your trust and bring visits to conversion. Cringe. I want you to know that I'm an artist, a plant nerd, a hide's behind the camera to film plant content creator, and a small business owner.
I have a studio fine arts degree from Maine College of Art in Portland, ME. I've worked, thrived, and grown in a dozen different jobs including:
911 Emergency Communications Officer, Police/Fire/EMS Radio Communications Officer - 46th BCA, Certified Law Enforcement Officer - 55th BLEA (yea that happened, it's a long story), an Internationally Certified Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Instructor, ground ops supervisor for a major US airline, master mosaic artist, utility vegetation management tree climber, private hazardous tree climber, rose gardener, public horticulturist-arborist, and finally my primary role as a Senior Designer with a landscape architecture firm based in Charlotte, NC.

In my current role I consult on projects across the United States and internationally leading comprehensive tree inventories, invasives management assessments and restoration planning, construction administration and ensuring teams meet jurisdictional and planning policy requirements. I also bring a creative lens to technical communication, developing process illustrations and streamlining inventory and data collection process deliverables.
